Legal Administrative Assistant

Department: Business
Location: Williamsburg, VA

Sands Anderson is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Williamsburg office. This position will primarily support our Business Group, with a strong focus on Labor and Employment law.

The ideal candidate is client-service driven, thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, and brings a proactive approach to administrative support. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle administrative tasks (file opening/closing), fax, file, scan, copy, and billing.
  • Process check requests.
  • Draft correspondence.
  • File electronically with the courts.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, visitors, and travel.
  • Organize documents.
  • Notarize documents.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, courts, experts
  • Conduct research using Westlaw, internet, etc.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as directed.

Skills and Education Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of labor and employment legal administrative experience
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet. Microsoft Teams experience a plus.
  • Experience writing, proofing, compiling corporate minute books preferred.
  • Ability to work the schedule of 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage priorities
